For our Olweus discussion today, we had a rotation of administrators come in and discuss the new Consequence Chart for Bullying Behavior.
The chart will primarily be used by admin when dealing with a bullying situation but it will be shared with faculty/staff and students so everyone understands what can be expected. The chart is left vague to give admin the ability to address individual situations fairly as each situation will differ in severity and damage done.
Admin also spent some time introducing how faculty and staff will be reporting not only bullying behaviors from students but also any poor behaviors that they feel should be documented. This will be done through a reporting feature on infinite campus. A training will be given during PLT in January to teach everyone how to use it and it should be a fairly simple procedure. A common question teachers had was why they are not able to see the behavior tab.
Thank you to Mike Dorst, Dave Holloway, and Angie Messer for taking some time to share this information in PLT!
